Delhi gang rape in upcoming two movies 2013

Delhi gang rape 2012, social crimes against women, Bangla movie, Bollywood, tollywood, Agnidev chatterjee, rituparna sengupta, dibyendu mukherjee, charulata movie   Agnidev Chatterjee who debuted as a director in Tollywood the Bangla movie industry with Churulata 2011, the contemporary, bold take on Satyajit Ray’s classic Charulata, is going to adapt the Delhi gang rape case 2012 on the celluloid in his upcoming Bangla movie. The movie on the brutal gang rape of a 23 year old girl in Delhi that shook the nation and moved the government to take stern step against such social crimes as rape will be starring Rituparna Sengupta and Subhoshree in the lead.

Rituparna Sengupta played the female lead opposite Dibyendu Mukherjee in Charulata 2011 and Tin Kanya, the last direction by Agnidev Chatterjee. Tin Kanya had got into controversy over its portrayal of the Park Street rape case that agitated Bengal in the beginning of 2012. The Tollywood director said that he would portray the Delhi gang rape case from a different perspective and with focus on student politics in the contemporary scenario.

Actor-producer Sachin Joshi’s Mumbai Mirror, released on January 18, 2013, incorporates a gang rape scene that was obviously shot before the real life incident. Mumbai Mirror produced by Viiking Media and Entertainment Pvt Ltd is the story of a cop who is protective of damsels in danger.

Bollywood is pacing with Tollywood when it comes to make a movie on the Delhi gang rape. Allani Sridhar, a Bollywood director, is working on a script based on the tragedy of Nirbhaya. He claims that his take on this traumatic incident will be a pure slice of real life with distinct departure from commercialism. His directorial venture that is yet untitled will be a message to the youth of India.
