Myntra Fashion Weekend 2014: Diana Penty graced ELLE Fashion
The high-glam, contemporary womenswear brand debuted its Autumn-Winter collection at the very first chapter of the nouveau format of Fashion Weekends showcasing brands
The high-end Parisian label, ELLE French Fashionwear showcased a collection of this season’s show-stealing designs at Myntra Fashion Weekend, the first ever format to help brands reach out directly to consumers. Hosted at the Palladium Hotel with full media presence and a gallery packed with brand loyalists, thirty-two statement styles each better than the one before kept the audience captivated. Like one could ask for more, the talented and stunning Diana Penty underlined the experience as the breath-taking show stopper.
Commenting on the occasion, the Bollywood beauty, Diana Penty said, “I was very excited to be a part of Myntra Fashion Weekend and things got even better when I was asked to walk the ramp for participant ELLE French Fashionwear. The ELLE brand of fashion is a very youthful, contemporary Parisian look which is not easy to find here. The range they displayed was very trendy and with-it, but the show-stopper piece I wore was my personal favourite. It was poised and dramatic all at the same time. In a nutshell, the experience was high on fashion and fun quotient!”
The show displayed four key lines spanning denimwear, vintage-inspired ensembles and reinvigorated partywear culminating with the dramatic Black & White collection. While the denim line flaunted studs, rhinestones, lurex embroidery and motto jeggings, the nostalgic, deep vintage canvas played out hand painted florals in ivy greens and clementine inspired by old master paintings. The dresses on the other hand were a fresh interpretation of what the brand is synonymous with – flirty feminine silhouettes, chic sheer fabrics, and sophisticated sequin and lace art. Doing justice to the finale was the unapologetic wild play with minimalistic yet high contrast colours brought alive in couture houndstooth jackets, opulent Herringbone skirts and bodycon dresses, each one a must-have for the fashion tastemakers.
